A Winning Combination

Here at Karma International, we pride ourselves on bringing together philanthropy, entrepreneurship and networking.  To bring people together and to make them bond and to engage can, in many circumstances, be about creating different experiences.  Which is why we’re pace-setting when it comes to hosting events, with experience in producing a range of innovative and creative events from chartering World War II bombers and fighters for a Member social day to mesmerizing 1,500 guests at the Playboy Mansion with UV light-reactive décor, theatrical performers, and more.

But the one aspect of each event we host that must remain consistent is the venue – the bones of the event that hold all of the details together.  And recently, after reading a story in Business Insider, we were reminded exactly why Karma International, with its global membership, is fortunate to be headquartered out of Beverly Hills in Los Angeles, California.

In an article highlighting the hottest luxury real estate markets in the United States, Los Angeles is mentioned as the “city built on the California dreams”, and mentions the most interesting characteristics of Los Angeles real estate, which are two notions that Karma Productions and Karma International take to heart when planning all of our events.

Most recently, a Kandyland event we produced was hosted at one of the most expensive, lavish mansions in Beverly Hills, Le Belvedere, which is situated on 2.2 acres and includes rose gardens, an infinity pool, limousine garages, a 5,000 bottle wine cellar, and more. For our event, Karma was able to open up some of the most exclusive rooms in the estate for our guests to enjoy, creating an unforgettable experience.

So, while we continually read about all Los Angeles has, we also try to take advantage of its offerings, including the luxury real estate, to provide the most rewarding, memorable life experiences for Karma Members – a notion our organization weighs as extremely important.  Then we take our ideas and roll them out across the globe – including some very exciting plans in 2013. Famed hotels turn 100 in 2012

Three famed hotels turn 100 in 2012

2012 has turned out to be a milestone in the luxury hospitality industry, as three of the most famed hotels in North America celebrate their centennial birthdays. From across the country, up to our neighbors in Canada, The Beverly Hills Hotel, The Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston, and the Ritz-Carlton Montreal, will each blow out 100 candles this year.

Each of these hotels has played an important role in setting the standard for luxury hotels. The Beverly Hills Hotel, one of the first sought after destination on Los Angeles’s Sunset Boulevard, opened in May of 1912, and has since been a playground for the world’s rich and famous. To celebrate, the hotel has created signature cocktails as an ode to the past with names such as the Rebel, named after Marlene Dietrich, and the Norma Jean, for Marilyn Monroe.

The Fairmont Copley Plaza, in the historic town of Boston, is celebrating its 100th, along with the much-loved Fenway Park, this year. To honor the occasion, the hotel is hosting 100 days of events, activities, and package deals, which also comes as the hotel wraps up a stunning $20 million renovation project.

The Ritz-Carlton Montreal is not simply a luxury hotel; it is the first establishment to bear the Ritz-Carlton name, now synonymous with perfection and indulgence. The hotel is currently closed for an expansive, extraordinary $150 million renovation, which will feature private residences and a Tiffany story, but is taking reservation starting June 1.

The Karma Foundation, a full-service social organization, prides itself on providing our members with high-class, memorable luxury experiences, and hotels, via our exclusive global partnerships, play a large part in creating those experiences. It’s amazing to see hotels, that defined luxury 100 years ago, are still the top influencers. Congratulations to each of these establishments for standing the test of time.

Earth Day 2012: Get STAR-struck at STAR EcoStation

If you had to choose one place to spend the 42nd Earth Day, wouldn’t you pick an award-winning, non-profit, environmental, education and exotic wildlife rescue center?   Here at the Karma Foundation we did just that. So this Sunday, as we celebrate another Earth Day and the importance of taking care of the environment, you’ll find a number of our Karma Foundation members and friends gathering at the world-renowned STAR Eco Station, in Culver City.  The event, which has been penned by the L.A. Times as “The Best Earth Day Pick”, is also the largest Earth Day event of its type in California – last year it was attended by more 40,000 people who enjoyed the music, arts, crafts, celebrity guest appearances and the overall feel-good vibe.

Earth Day presents the perfect opportunity for us to bring together three of our favorite things: (1) a great non-profit, dedicated to an important cause (2) an occasion to assemble talented, caring and philanthropic individuals, and (3) the opportunity to show that “Karma Cares” with an up-close-and-personal private Karma tour of the STAR Eco Station and STAR Education facility.

The STAR EcoStation works tirelessly to provide an important service that benefits animals, the environment, and the Los Angeles community.  We at Karma Foundation are proud to be part of Earth Day and to have a partnership with such an auspicious institution that is dedicated to preservation and education.

We will be taking part in STAR EcoStation’s ‘Plant a Million Seeds of Joy’, a very hands-on campaign to plant a million of California’s indigenous flowers – in fact, we are setting up our very own Karma Garden at the STAR EcoStation!
